Call for Nominations for the Editorship of the American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly

 

The ACPA is now accepting applications and nominations for the Editorship of its journal, the American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly.  The term is for three years and is renewable.  A decision will be made during the annual Conference in Omaha, October 31 to November 2.  The applications are due on Oct. 15.

I.       The main tasks of the editorial office are:

 

(1) corresponding with contributors,

(2) receiving article submissions and assigning them to members of the editorial board for assessment,

(3) managing the peer review process,

(4) commissioning book reviews,

(5) planning special issues and recruiting guest editors,

(6) copyediting articles and book reviews accepted for publication,

(7) overseeing the typesetting of the journal and collating authors' corrections into a final set of proofs,

(8) producing offprints and sending them to contributors.

 

II.    The ACPQ needs the following support from any institution interested in housing the editorial office:

 

(1) a part-time administrative assistant,

(2) office space to store the files and archives of the journal and to keep the books received for review,

(3) a course reduction for the editor,

(4) funding for a professional copyeditor (unless the editor takes over this task him- or herself).
